PlatinumPlay, a division of Playground People, is a New Zealand-based family business with more than 20 years experience in the play-fitness industry. Our playground equipment is world class; we export our equipment to Australia and around the Pacific.
The quality playground equipment we design and manufacture is attuned to the needs of children and young people. Our products have been proven to increase upper body strength, balance, coordination and cardio fitness. But our first priority with anything we design is fun; if using the equipment isn't enjoyable, no fitness or strength gains can be made. We make fitness fun!
Research and development
The evolution of the playground equipment we design and manufacture is ongoing. Over the years we have amassed a formidable knowledge of how children prefer to play. We regularly observe children using our playgrounds and confidence courses. We also conduct qualitative research sessions with children and teachers, to keep our knowledge in good shape. From time to time we commission research through the University of Auckland. For a copy of our playground fitness study, the first of its kind in the world, contact us.
Materials
The materials we use vary from one product to another, but all are carefully selected for their safety and durability aspects. We pride ourselves on building industrial-strength equipment that will withstand rigorous daily use year after year.
Colour schemes are chosen to suit the user audience. For example, playgrounds for 4 to 7-year-olds feature bright primary colours; confidence courses for older children are more subdued and 'industrial', to suit their tastes.

Our expertise and experience enables us to recommend the best PlatinumPlay solution for your requirements, however there is always room for customisation.

Safety Standards
Our playground equipment is certified to the NZS5828:2004 New Zealand Playground Safety Standards. Because we export our playground equipment, we also have certification for the AS 4685:2004 Australian Playground Safety Standards and the EN 1176 European Playground Safety Standards.
You don't need to take our word for it; our equipment is certified by an independent, qualified third-party engineer.
The PlatinumPlay Promise
Behind our robust equipment we offer the following guarantees.
15 years for defects resulting from material or production errors in all aluminium posts and fabricated galvanised steel components.
10 Years for defects resulting from material or production errors in aluminium decks, timber decks and timber posts.
5 Years for defects resulting from material or production errors in chain, moulded plastic parts, ball bearing assembly, timber seating and climbing walls.
2 Years for defects resulting from material or production errors in D shackles, S hooks, rubber parts, Track Ride carts and any other parts not specifically listed above.
The Guarantee only applies to correctly maintained products and does not include wear and tear, misuse or vandalism. We supply you with a maintenance guide for our products.
